Matthew Judon was born August 15, 1992 in Pontiac, MI, sixth child of ten children. Matt found his individuality through athletics early on playing in peewee basketball leagues however, his crowning glory manifest when he began playing football for his school’s team (Abbott Middle School) in West Bloomfield, MI and from there he continued to play Football for his high school (W. Bloomfield High.) During his senior year (2010) he was named to the Spinal Column Newsweekly All-Area football team after collecting 89 total tackles and earning him an invitation to play in the 30th annual Michigan High School All Star Football game. Before his attendance, Matthew confidently chose Grand Valley State University as his college of choice where he received an athletic scholarship.

 

Once at GVSU, Matt continued to excel on and off the field, double majoring in Sports Management and Business as well as becoming GVSU top defensive end. During his final year, Matthew led the nation in sacks totaling 21.5 seasons’ high tackles. Because of his mind-blowing athletics, Matt earned the Gene Upshaw Trophy in 2015, was named Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference's (GLIAC) Defensive Lineman of the Year and Associated Press Little All-American squad.

 

In 2015, Matthew was presented with the opportunity to attend the NFL Scouting Combine to which he proved himself among the elite talents, earning him a selection into the 2016 NFL Draft. Matt was drafted with the 146th overall pick by the Baltimore Ravens in the fifth round where he is currently in his 2nd season playing as an Outside Linebacker.
